ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's tennis team rallied for a 4-3 win over William Woods at the UMSL Tennis Courts on Sunday.
The Owls took two of the three doubles matches to take the opening point of the dual. The Tritons number one doubles team of
Hannah Tse and
Aleksandra Lopez defeated Hanna Lindeboom and Charlotte Ready 6-2. WWU's number two team of Sophia Hausner and Kristinia Dimitrijevic defeated
Anna Favaron and
Morgan Lint 7-6 in a tiebreak. Zara Littlejohn and Mireia Simon Sanchez beat
Lauren Sweeney and
Giuliana Cunza 6-4 to clinch the doubles point.
In singles play, Tse defeated Lindeboom in straight sets 7-5, 6-3 in the number one singles contest and Lopez beat Dimitrijevic 6-2, 6-2 at number three singles. Lint gave the Tritons a 3-2 lead in the match beating Samya Sikand 6-0, 4-0 and Cunza clinched the win defeating Hausner 6-2, 6-2.
UMSL is back in action next Friday and Saturday competing at the SIUE Invitational in Edwardsville, Ill.
