ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's tennis team defeated Maryville 7-0 on Friday afternoon at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in St. Louis.
The Tritons won all three doubles matches to win the opening point of the contest. UMSL's No. 1 doubles team of
Morgan Lint and
Hannah Tse defeated Isabella Alvarez and Mira Vasileva 6-2,
Aleksandra Lopez and
Millie Wileman handed Nazil Saka and Elisabetta Ricci a 6-3 defeat and
Anna Favaron and
Lauren Sweeney defeated Grace Brown and Luana Luersen by the score of 6-1.
In singles play it was Tse defeating Alvarez 6-2, 6-1, Lopez dropped the opening set to Saka 6-4 but rallied to win the next 6-2 and 1-0 to win in three sets, Wileman beat Ricci 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3 singles. Lint defeated Luersen 6-3, 6-3, Favaron rallied for a three-set victory over Brown 6-7, 6-4, 1-0 and
Giuliana Cunza won by default in the final singles match.
The Tritons wrap up the fall portion of their 2025-26 schedule on Sunday (Oct. 19) taking on Missouri Valley at 4 p.m. at Dwight Davis Tennis Center.
