Women’s Soccer Ranked Seventh In Latest Midwest Regional Rankings

ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team is ranked seventh in the second set of Midwest Regional rankings released by the NCAA on Wednesday afternoon. The top eight teams in the region will advance to the NCAA Division II National Tournament beginning on Friday (Nov. 21).

Automatic bids are granted to the winners of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) and Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) postseason tournament winners with the five remaining spots awarded on an at-large basis.

The Tritons are 12-4-2 on the season and finished the conference portion of their schedule with a record of 11-1-2.

Grand Valley State sits atop the Midwest Regional Rankings at 16-2 overall and is followed by Ashland at No. 2 with a record of 12-2-4. McKendree, Maryville, Cedarville, Northwood, UMSL and Drury round out the top eight. Findlay and Saginaw Valley currently hold the number nine and ten spots in the rankings.

The NCAA II Tournament field of 56 teams (6-8 in each of eight regions) will be announced on Monday (Nov. 17) during the Selection Show on NCAA.com at 5:30 p.m. (CST).

The Tritons are looking to make its second straight NCAA Tournament appearance and fifth overall.
