INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team is among 56 schools selected for the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer tournament, as announced Monday night by the NCAA.
The Tritons received their second straight bid and sixth overall to the Tournament and are the No. 7 seed and will take on one of the hosts and No. 2 seed McKendree in first round action on Friday (Nov. 21) in Lebanon, Ill.
Other first round matches include third seeded Ashland taking on sixth seeded Drury in Lebanon while the other side of the bracket will be hosted by top seeded Grand Valley State. The Lakers will play No. 8 Cedarville on Thursday and the other game in that sub regional will be No. 4 Maryville vs. No. 5 Northwood.
Second round games will take place on Sunday (Nov. 23) with the winners of that game moving to the regional championship the following Saturday.
The regional winner advances to the NCAA quarterfinals on Saturday (Dec. 6). The NCAA semifinal and championship contests will be held Dec. 11 and 13.
UMSL is 12-4-2 on the season.
