ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team is set to face McKendree in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at McKendree's Leemon Field at 3 p.m. this Friday. The game will be live streamed through NCAA Champion Pass and is available free of charge.
Tickets for Friday's game will be sold on-site only. Ticket prices are $15 for adults, $3 for students with an ID, $5 for senior citizens and children ages 2-12 and an All-Session pass is available for $20.
The Tritons received an at-large bid to the tournament and will the be number seven seed in the Midwest Region while the Bearcats are the number two seed and received an at-large bid.
Friday's other first round game at McKendree will feature GLVC champion and sixth seeded Drury taking G-MAC champion and third seeded Ashland at noon.
The other half of the bracket kicks off on Thursday with fifth seeded Northwood taking on fourth seeded Maryville at 11 a.m. (CST) and eighth seeded Cedarville will meet top seed and host Grand Valley State at 2 p.m. (CST).
Friday's contest marks the second meeting between UMSL and McKendree this season with the Tritons winning the first meeting 1-0 back on Oct. 10 at Don Dallas Field.
Maddie Clark scored the game-winner in the 19th minute with assists from
Ella Anselm and
Josie Maddox.
Rylee Griffith made four saves in goal to earn the shutout.
The Bearcats haven't lost since that contest and are unbeaten in their last nine games. McKendree tied Drury in the GLVC championship contest but lost in penalties 3-2.
UMSL is making its second straight NCAA Tournament appearance and sixth overall while the Bearcats are making their ninth straight appearance in the tournament.
