ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's tennis team picked up its second straight win sweeping McPherson 4-0 on Saturday at the UMSL Tennis Courts. The Tritons improve to 5-3 while the Bulldogs drop to 6-3.
UMSL clinched the first point of the match by winning all three doubles contest. The Tritons number one doubles team of
Tanin Ramnath and
Daniel Berdecio defeated Oscar Brouwer and Celien Botlan by the score of 6-4. The second tandem of
Percy Siercke and
Henry Roberts handed Jayson Wasserfuhr and Arthur Nardy a 6-2 defeat. UMSL's number three doubles duo of
Alejandro Ley and
Joan Garros beat Texas Ranger Schmidt and Simon Delgadillo 6-4.
In singles competition, Siercke handed Botlan a 6-3, 6-3 defeat at number three singles, Berdecio swept Wasserfuhr 6-4, 6-0 in the fourth singles contest and Garros knocked off Balaza Temesvari 6-3, 6-3. Roberts defeated Delgadillo in straight sets 6-3, 6-2 and Ley won in three sets over Nardy 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 1-0 (10-3). Ramnath lost in straight sets to Brouwer 6-1, 7-6 (9-7).
The Tritons return to the courts on Friday (March 21) hosting Harding at 2 p.m. at the UMSL Tennis Courts.
