St. Louis – University of Missouri-St. Louis men's soccer juniors Brady Freeman and Mario Garcia were named to the All-Great Lakes Valley Conference team, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon.

It's the first time since 2021 that UMSL has had multiple players earn postseason all-conference honors.

Freeman leads the Tritons in scoring this season with eight goals for a total of 16 points and has tallied four game-winning goals and recorded multi goal games against Upper Iowa and Truman State. Seven of his eight goals have come in GLVC contests.

Garcia has been a mainstay in the midfield for the Tritons this season having played 90 minutes or more 14 times this season and has scored four goals while adding two assists for a total of 10 points and scored the game-winning goal at Drury last Saturday to send UMSL to the GLVC semifinal round for the first time since 2012.

In addition, the league announced its 15 James R. Spalding Sportsmanship award honorees. The Spalding Sportsmanship honorees are student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. These individuals must also be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting. The honorees are now eligible to become one of their school's two Spalding Sportsmanship Award winners, which will be announced at the end of the academic year. Connor Lynd was UMSL's nominee for the award.
