ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's tennis team snapped its three-match losing streak with a 4-3 win over McPherson at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon. The Tritons improve to 2-5 while the Bulldogs fall to 2-4.
UMSL secured the first point of the dual winning all three doubles contests.
Tommy Griese and
Percy Siercke defeated Arthur Nardy and Hamish Wyatt 6-4 at No. 1 doubles. In the second doubles contest it was
Tanin Ramnath and
Henry Roberts beating Jayson Wasserfuhr and Bruno Barrientos 6-4 while
Andrea Ricart and
Jose Yanez knocked off Texas Ranger Schimdt and Davian Spies 6-2.
The Tritons got singles victories from Siercke as he beat Wasserfuhr 7-5, 6-2, Ricart handed Balazs Temesvari a 6-3, 6-2 defeat and Yanez defeated Spies 6-3, 6-1 to clinch the victory.
UMSL returns to the courts next Saturday hosting No. 48 Northwest Missouri State at 11 a.m. at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center.
