SAN DIEGO – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's tennis dropped its match against Point Loma 5-0 on Tuesday evening at the PLNU Tennis Courts in San Diego. The Tritons drop to 6-3 while the Sea Lions improve to 11-2.
UMSL picked up a win at number one doubles as its top duo of
Hannah Tse and
Morgan Lint defeated Anna Pallencaoe and Emely Valencia 6-2 but Point Loma won the final two doubles match to take the first point of the contest.
Aleksandra Lopez rallied for a three-set win over Pallencaoe 6-7, 7-5, 1-0 at number three singles.
Alexandra Cedeno lost to Zoe Moley 6-2, 6-1 at number six singles, Lint dropped her match against Perla Conde 7-5, 6-1, Tse fell to No. 23 Alina Kupfer in straight sets 6-4, 6-4 and
Millie Wileman lost to Valencia 6-2, 6-0.
Giuliana Cunza lost to Melissa Zirkle in three sets 6-7 (3-7), 6-0, 0-1 (3-10).
The Tritons continue their Spring Break trip in southern California on Wednesday taking on No. 34 Azusa Pacific at the Muson and Bavougian Tennis Complex in Azusa, Calif., at 4:30 p.m. (CDT).
