BOULDER CITY, Nev. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's golf team is tied for first with a total team score 278 (-10) after the first round of the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships on Monday at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev.
The Tritons are tied with West Texas A&M after 18 holes of action.
Logan Mayo led the way shooting a 67 in his round and his tied for fourth while
Dani Solavera shot a 68 and is tied for seventh.
Leo Baudry finished his day with a round of 70 and is tied for 20th.
Trigg Lindahl finished with a score of 73 and
Ludvig Granlund shot a 79.
UMSL and West Texas A&M have a two-shot lead over Lee and Florida Southern heading into Tuesday's second round. The Buffs David Vega Gerstel and Luis Palomo and Lee's George Cordall are tied for the individual lead with a score of 66 and hold a one shot lead over four players including Mayo.
The teams with the eight lowest scores at the conclusion of the stroke play portion of the championships on Wednesday advance to the medal/match play portion of the event starting on Thursday.
The second round of the NCAA Championships tees off at 9:30 a.m. (CDT) on Tuesday. The Tritons begin their round at 10:25 a.m. (CDT).
