Mayo Named Third Team Academic All-American

ST. LOUIS – University of Missouri-St. Louis men's golfer Logan Mayo has been selected to the 2025-26 Academic All-America Division II Men's At-Large Third Team, as selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).

Mayo is the 30th Triton student-athlete to earn Academic All-America honors and the second men's golfer joining Dave Rhoades who received the distinguished honor in 1992 and 1993.

Mayo is the seventh UMSL student-athlete during the 2025-26 school year to earn the distinction joining Taylor Martin (women's soccer), Alayna Santel and Skylar Weaver (volleyball), Mara Rieder (women's basketball) and Mitch Bonczkowski and Eli Cartwright (baseball). The seven student-athletes to earn Academic All-American accolades is the most in a single year in school history.

Mayo, a finance major, has a 3.69 grade point average and was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference's Scholar-Athlete of the Year for men's golf. He was named GLVC Men's Golf Player of the Week twice this past season, was a First Team All-GLVC selection, a first team All-Region honoree and earned honorable mention All-America accolades from the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Mayo had a scoring average of 72.62 which was second lowest on the team, shot par or better in nearly half of his rounds played, had five top five and seven top 10 finishes. He was also named to the Academic All-GLVC team and helped lead the Tritons to their best NCAA finish with a semifinal appearance in the medal/match play portion at the NCAA Championships.

The at-large program for the CSC Academic All-America program includes the sports of beach volleyball, fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, water polo for both men and women; bowling, crew and field hockey for women; and volleyball and wrestling for men.

To be eligible for Academic All-America consideration, a student-athlete must have competed in 50 percent or more of a team's competitions and have at least a 3.50 cumulate grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution.
