INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's soccer team was picked to finish 10th in the 2026 Great Lakes Valley Conference Preseason Poll announced on Wednesday morning. The poll was voted on by the league's 15 head coaches and per league policy coaches are not eligible to vote for their own teams.
Lincoln is the favorite to win the league championship as it received 192 total points and six first-place votes. Rockhurst was tabbed to finish second with 180 points also receiving six first-place votes. Maryville, the defending GLVC champs, were slotted to finish third with 166 points and two first-place votes. McKendree and UIndy rounded out the top five. The Bearcats tallied 162 points while the Greyhounds had 158 points and received the final first-place vote.
The league's 15 teams will compete in a 14-game round-robin schedule that begins on September 5 and runs through October 24.
The 2026 GLVC Championship Tournament begins on Nov. 1 at campus sites with the semifinals and finals to be held at the Cooper Sports Complex in Springfield, Mo., Nov. 6 and Nov. 8.
UMSL kicks off its 58th season of intercollegiate play on Thursday, August 27 hosting Kentucky Wesleyan at 5 p.m. on Don Dallas Field. The Tritons GLVC opener is slated for Saturday (Sept. 5) at Southwest Baptist at 2:30 p.m.
