ST. LOUIS – Runners, walkers, families and fitness enthusiasts from across the St. Louis community are invited to lace up their shoes and join the fun at the sixth annual UMSL 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026, at the University of Missouri–St. Louis.

The race begins at 8:30 a.m. and offers participants of all ages and abilities a chance to enjoy an active morning on the UMSL campus while supporting UMSL Athletics.

Whether you're chasing a personal best, competing for an age-group prize or simply looking for a fun way to get moving with family and friends, the UMSL 5K Run/Walk has something for everyone.

Every registered participant will receive a commemorative race T-shirt and finisher medal, and competitive runners will have the opportunity to earn age-group awards as well as an overall runner-up and top finisher.

Title Sponsor Corner 17 will also offer a 15% off discount for participants that wear their race bib into the restaurant that day. Finish Line sponsor Walter Knoll Florist will be providing a flower for each participant at the finish line a stunning dozen-rose bouquet for each top male and female finisher!

For those that are unable to join in person, virtual registration is also available to still support and be part of the fun.

Run, Walk and Support UMSL Athletics

The UMSL 5K is more than a community race. Proceeds from the event benefit UMSL Athletics, helping provide resources and opportunities that enhance the experience of Triton student-athletes and build upon the continued success of UMSL's athletic programs.

Participants can make the competition even more fun by racing for their favorite Triton team. During registration, simply select the UMSL Athletic team you want to represent.

Triton teams will compete to see which program can attract the most runners and walkers, giving participants another reason to recruit their friends, family members, teammates and coworkers to join them on race day.

The challenge is simple: Register. Join a team. Rally your friends. And see which Triton team can bring the biggest crowd to the starting line.

A Race for the Whole Community
The UMSL 5K welcomes serious runners, casual walkers, UMSL alumni and students, Triton fans and anyone from the St. Louis region looking for a fun fall event.

The morning will also include a UMSL Kids Fun Run for children ages 10 and under at 9:30 a.m., making it an event the entire family can enjoy.

The UMSL 5K will start and finish at Alumni Circle outside the new Richter Family Welcome and Alumni Center and take participants through the heart of UMSL's campus.

• Current UMSL Students: $20
• Alumni, Family and Friends: $30 through Sept. 17, with registration increasing after that date
• Virtual 5K: $40
• UMSL Kids Fun Run: For children ages 10 and under

Packet pickup will be available Friday, Oct. 16, from 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. at the Richter Family Welcome and Alumni Center and beginning at 7:30 a.m. on race morning at Alumni Circle.
