St. Louis—The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's soccer team drew against Quincy 0-0 at Don Dallas Field on Wednesday evening. The Tritons are 3-4-2, 2-3-2 GLVC while the Hawks are 5-1-5, 4-0-4 GLVC.
UMSL outshot Quincy 11-7 with both teams having one shot on net a piece. A stifling offsides trap on free kicks helped keep the Hawks to just two shots in the first half, both off target.
The Tritons' best chance came in the 85
th minute when
Isaac Valverde headed the ball down towards the goal line, forcing a quick save out of Jake Offerman.
Will Winkler earned his second shutout of the season, playing a high line to force Quincy's forwards into taking quick, unsettled shots. His save in the 53
rd minute on Ryan Myatt was the lone shot on net in the contest.
UMSL concludes its three-match home stand on Saturday (Oct. 3) against Quincy at 7:30 p.m. at Don Dallas Field.
