Women's Soccer Blanked by Visiting Rangers

ST. LOUIS, MO. - Visiting Wisconsin-Parkside recorded a 2-0 victory over the University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team Sunday afternoon in Great Lakes Valley Conference action.

The Rangers ended a scoreless game with 2:28 to play in the first half when a long pass from midfield made its way into the box where Megan Owens found it and put it past Tritons keeper Kaitlyn Smugala before tacking on an insurance goal in the 76th minute.

UMSL, which slips to 3-7-1 overall and 3-6 in the GLVC, was out-shot 11-4, including 8-1 in shots on goal. All four Triton shots came in the first half. Smugala recorded five saves.

Wisconsin-Parkside improves its ledger to 8-3-1 and 7-3 in the league.

The Tritons return to the field Friday, traveling to Indianapolis. Game time is set for 5 p.m. (EST).
