UMSL did have a chance to win the game at the end as sophomore Tierra Snow stole the ball with seven seconds to play, but sophomore Alexis Lawrence's shot at the buzzer came up short.

Christian Brothers scored the final 11 points of the first half to take a 26-24 lead into the break.

Lawrence drained a pair of three-point buckets to ignite an 11-0 UMSL run midway through the first half with junior Jessica Zavoral capping the run with a three-pointer of her own at the 11:34 mark to give the Tritons their largest lead at 17-9.

Christian Brothers went 7:21 without scoring during UMSL's run. UMSL also suffered through its own drought going 5:09 without a score. After Zavoral's three-pointer ended the 11-0 run, UMSL would not score again until freshman Logan Sims hit the first of two free throws with 6:25 to play to make it 18-13.

Senior Molly Barnes' layup with 4:24 to play pushed the Tritons lead back to 24-15, but UMSL would not score again in the opening frame, going 0-for-6 from the field during that span.

The Tritons shot 35.1 percent from the field, while Christian Brothers connected at a 37.7 percent clip and held a 38-37 rebounding edge. UMSL controlled the offensive boards, owning a 19-9 advantage.
