ST. LOUIS – Three University of Missouri-St. Louis women's basketball student-athletes have been named to the College Sports Communicators 2025-26 Academic All-District team.
Representing the Tritons are
Anna Costa Riera,
Morgan Ramthun and
Mara Rieder. The Academic All-America teams will be announced on April 15.
To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore in eligibility and academically with a 3.5 or better cumulative grade point average and have competed in at least 90 percent of the team's games played or started in at least two-thirds of the team's total contests.
Costa Riera is majoring in psychology with a 3.75 grade point average. She started all 31 games for the Tritons this season. Costa Riera led the Great Lakes Valley Conference in assists (138) and assists per game (4.5) and was second in assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.89. She also averaged 7.2 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. Costa Riera scored an UMSL career-high with 17 points in the GLVC quarterfinal win over Upper Iowa on March 5 and had a career-high 11 rebounds in the NCAA Tournament win over Ferris State on March 13.
Ramthun, a nursing major with a 3.71 GPA, earned First Team All-GLVC honors and was named to the GLVC's All-Defensive Team this past season. She started 31 games averaging 13.4 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. Ramthun finished the season with 11 doubles-doubles which was good for third in the GLVC. She reached double figures in scoring 25 times this past season highlighted by a career-high 27 points at Drury in the regular season finale on February 26. She started every game in her Triton career and finishes it with 1,193 points and 941 rebounds.
Rieder is majoring in physical education with a 3.75 grade point average. She put together one of the greatest single seasons in program history this season scoring 585 points and grabbing 302 rebounds while blocking 68 shots. Her rebounds and blocked shots are both second best while her point total is third best in single season in school history. Rieder recorded 17 double-doubles this season which ranked second in the GLVC and 13th in Division II.
UMSL finished the season with a school record 25 wins, won the GLVC regular season championship and won its first NCAA Tournament game in program history.
