COMING UP IN UMSL WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's basketball team returns to action on Monday at Lincoln following a 12-day break. The Tritons will then close out the first semester by hosting Culver-Stockton on Wednesday at 1 p.m. UMSL has not played since December 5 when they lost a 73-64 decision to Maryville in the GLVC opener.

BACK WHERE I COME FROM
UMSL first-year head coach Katie Vaughn is no stranger to Lincoln, having spent the previous three years as the Blue Tigers' head coach. Last season, she directed Lincoln to its most successful season in school history with a 15-13 record – tying season records for most wins in a season and most MIAA conference wins. Additionally, the Blue Tigers made their first MIAA Tournament appearance in more than 20 years.

THE SERIES
UMSL is 29-17 all-time against Lincoln. The two programs have met each of last four years in which the Tritons have posted three wins during that time. Lincoln won last year's meeting by a score of 80-73.

Culver-Stockton holds a 5-4 edge in the all-time series against UMSL. The two teams last met during the 1988-89 season, when the Tritons recorded a 70-55 victory.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Lincoln enters a Saturday contest at Maryville with a 5-3 mark. The Blue Tigers are 2-0 against GLVC schools, posting wins over McKendree (69-60) and Quincy (75-62) earlier this season. Freddie Sims averages a team-best 14.9 points per game, while Arianna Walker adds 14.8 points per game and leads the team with 4.6 assists and 4.0 steals per game.

SIZING UP THE TRITONS
UMSL saw a two-game win streak snapped in its loss to Maryville. Junior Hazaria Washington paces the squad with team-highs of 13.8 points and 9.2 rebounds per game, while senior Devonna Smith adds 11.0 points and 7.8 rebounds per game.

DOUBLE VISION
Junior Hazaria Washington has three double-doubles this season - all coming in the first three games of the season.

ON THE OFFENSIVE
Of its 200 rebounds this season, 84 have come on the offensive end, which ranks second in the GLVC. Junior Hazaria Washington leads the league in that category, averaging 5.4 offensive rebounds per game, while senior Devonna Smith is seventh at 3.3 offensive boards per game.

BASKETBALL THIEVES
UMSL ranks second in the GLVC in steals, averaging 14.4 per game. The Tritons have tallied double digit thefts in each game this season, including a season-best 18 at Lindenwood.

Junior Kelly McGovern has 18 steals, an average of 3.6 per game, which leads the GLVC.

FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING
Junior Hazaria Washington was named the GLVC Player of the Week Dec. 3 for her efforts in UMSL's wins over Missouri Baptist and Lindenwood, and became the first women's basketball player in program history to earn this honor. Washington averaged 13.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals, and 2.5 blocks per game in the two victories, while shooting 40 percent from the field after playing 33.5 minutes per game.

UP NEXT
UMSL travels to Detroit, Mich., for the Wayne State Holiday Classic Dec. 28-29. The Tritons face the host school and will also meet Northwood.
