ST. LOUIS, MO. – Junior centerfielder Lucas Matecki of the University of Missouri-St. Louis baseball team has been selected to the American Baseball Coaches Association Midwest Region Gold Glove Team for his near spotless play in the field.

Matecki started 52 games for the Tritons, recording 132 putouts and nine assists. He committed just one error for a fielding percentage of .993.

Matecki helped UMSL to its best season since 2004, as the Tritons posted a 32-21 record, which included victories in 24 of their final 31 contests.

The ABCA All-Region and Gold Glove teams are selected by a vote of the coaches in the region.
