ST. CHARLES, MO. – Two first half goals was all Lindenwood need to secure a 2-0 victory over the visiting University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team Sunday afternoon in the Tritons' final nonconference contest.
The host Lions (1-0-1) netted tallies in the 16th and 39th minutes.
Both teams finished with 12 shots. Lindenwood, which placed six on goal, owned the edge in the first half, 10-6, while UMSL (0-1-1) held a 6-2 advantage in the second half. The Tritons landed five shots on goal and had three shots from sophomore

Cassie McFadden all took two shots each.
Junior keeper Katilyn Smugala played all 90 minutes in goal, allowing both Lindenwood scores, while recording four saves.
UMSL returns to action Friday, hosting No. 21 ranked Bellarmine at 5 p.m. in the Great Lakes Valley Conference opener.
