SPRINGFIELD, MO. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team posted a 25-16 win in the first set at Drury on Friday night, but saw the host Panthers rally back for the match victory by taking the next three sets, 25-22, 25-13, 25-23.
The Tritons, which fall to 10-7 overall, including 5-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, hit .162 to Drury's .219. The Panthers move to 8-10 and 3-5 in the league with the win.
Senior
Chelsea Burkle had a team-high 12 kills, while junior
Haley Brightwell finished with 10. Sophomore
Lindsay Meyer recorded her seventh double-double of the year with 40 assists and 13 digs, while junior
Emily Bragaw tallied a team-best 21 digs.
Drury put up nine blocks to the Tritons' seven and had 59 kills to UMSL's 46.
Sophomore
Hannah Miller finished with four blocks, while adding seven kills, hitting .429 after registering just one error in 14 attempts.
The Tritons return to action tomorrow at Missouri S&T in a 3 p.m. contest.
