WINTER HAVEN, FLA. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis baseball team took advantage of a three-error eighth inning by Grand Valley State to score two runs en route to a 5-3 victory over the No. 15 ranked Lakers on Sunday afternoon during the RussMatt Central Florida Tournament.
Seniors
Trevor Nathanson reached first on a one-out Lakers error before a single from senior
Charlie Mohr. Another fielding error, followed by a throwing error, then allowed both players to cross the plate with junior
Michael Budka getting credited for one RBI on the play.
Grand Valley State (4-4) finished with six errors in the contest, which led to five unearned UMSL runs. The Tritons improve to 3-5 with the victory.

Grand Valley State plated two runs in the top of the fourth before an RBI single from senior
John Pilackas in the bottom half of the frame made it 2-2.
Junior
Paul Richmond then led off the seventh inning with a single and later scored on a wild pitch to put UMSL on top 3-2. However, the Lakers used two hits to score one run in the eighth inning to tie it at 3-3.
Junior
Nolan Clayton recorded the win on the mound, allowing three runs on six hits in eight innings. He struck out three and walked two.
Senior
Kyle Renaud picked up his third save of the season, retiring all three batters faced in the ninth.
Mohr finished with two of UMSL's four hits and scored two runs.
The Tritons return to action next Saturday-Sunday when they open Great Lakes Valley Conference action with a four-game series at Lewis.
