BIG RAPIDS, MICH. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team bounced back from a 3-0 loss to Ashland to post a 3-0 victory over Indiana (Pa.) on Saturday afternoon at the Bulldog Invitational, hosted by Ferris State.
The Tritons end the weekend with a 2-2 record and return to the court next Friday-Saturday at the North Alabama Tournament in Florence, Ala.
Ashland 3, UMSL 0
Ashland hit at a .303 clip en route to a 25-14, 25-20, 25-20 victory, while UMSL was held to .146 hitting. The Eagles also outblocked the Tritons, 7-2.
UMSL was led by seven kills each from junior
Haley Brightwell and senior
Chelsea Burkle. Sophomore
Lindsay Meyer dished out 16 assists and added nine digs.
UMSL 3, Indiana (Pa.) 0
Meyer recorded 17 assists, six digs and two service aces to help UMSL to 25-22, 25-14, 25-14 win, while Brightwell posted a nine-kill, nine-dig effort.
The Tritons hit .214 as a team, while holding Indiana (Pa.) to a -.041 clip. Freshman
Savannah Hubly had 10 digs.
