ST. CHARLES, MO. – Sophomore
Sidney Allen recorded a pair of assists to help the University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team rally for a 2-1 victory at Lindenwood on Sunday afternoon in the final game of the Embassy Suites Invitational, hosted by the Lions.
Lindenwood (1-1) scored the game's first goal with just over three minutes to play in the first half as the Lions took a 1-0 lead into intermission. From there, however, it was all Tritons.
Sophomore
Cassie McFadden knotted the score at the 71:47 mark with her first career goal, while sophomore
Jessica Mincher followed at the 86:27 mark with her first career goal for the game-winner. Allen assisted on both scores.
After being outshot 6-3 in the first half, UMSL outshot the Lions, 8-7, in the second half. Sophomore
Hannah Kaloupek and senior
Brittany Harbaugh each had two shots, including one on goal, for the Tritons.
Senior
Christine Lips played all 90 minutes in goal, recording six saves.
UMSL returns to action on Friday when it opens the Great Lakes Valley Conference schedule at Quincy. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
