KIRKSVILLE, MO. – A slow start by the University of Missouri-St. Louis men's basketball team, coupled with efficient shooting by Truman State, doomed the Tritons in an 83-66 Great Lakes Valley Conference loss on Thursday night.
UMSL made just one of its first nine field goal attempts and fell behind 21-4 seven minutes into the game, while the Bulldogs shot 55.6 percent in the first half en route to a 52-32 halftime lead. Truman State finished the game shooting 55.4 percent, while UMSL shot 43.1 percent.

Tylor Wimbish led the Tritons with 15 points, netting 7-of-8 field goals, while junior
Derek Shouse drained four three-pointers to finish with 14 points off the bench. Senior
Femi John also reached double figures with 10 points.
UMSL slips to 9-5 overall with its third straight loss, and drops to 3-3 in the GLVC, while Truman State improves to 11-3 and 4-2 in the league.
Truman State, led by Mike Carlson's game-high 34 points, owned a 31-25 rebounding advantage.
UMSL returns home on Saturday, hosting Quincy at 3 p.m.
