ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's basketball team had two players receive postseason honors from the Great Lakes Valley Conference as announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon.
Taye Moore was named to the All-GLVC Second Team while
Miles Boland was selected to the All-Freshman team.
Moore started 27 game for the Tritons this season leading the team in scoring with 15 points per contest, averaging 3.1 rebounds per game and was third on the team with 35 steals. He reached double figures in scoring 19 times this season and had seven games with at least 20 points highlighted by a career-high 27 point performance against Michigan Tech back in November.
In GLVC-only contests he averaged 15 points and 3.3 assists per game while shooting 33 percent from the three-point line and 88 percent at the foul line.
Boland played in all 29 games this season with 27 starts and led the team with 138 assists and 56 steals. His 138 assists and 4.8 assists per game were both second best in the conference this season while his assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.1 was fourth in the league. Boland reached double figures in scoring 12 times this season highlighted by a career-high 20-point performance at Illinois Springfield in January.
In GLVC-only contests, he handed out 98 assists which was good for 4.9 per contest and an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.1.
Vincent Davis III was one of 15 honorees in men's basketball that was nominated for the GLVC's James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award. These individuals must be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting. The honorees from full-time GLVC member institutions are now eligible to become one of their school's two Spalding Sportsmanship Award winners, which will be announced at the end of the academic year.
