ST. LOUIS, MO. – Junior
Bailey Hopper earned her first collegiate medalist honors while helping the University of Missouri-St. Louis women's golf team to a first place finish at its own Triton Invitational, held Sunday and Monday at Norwood CC.
Hopper carded 154 with rounds of 75 and 79, while UMSL posted a team score of 647 (310-337). Hopper was the lone player to break 80 in today's wet and rainy round.
The Tritons finished 11 strokes better than runner-up Iowa Western CC, while Drury was third with a 660. The first place finish was the fourth for UMSL this season and the second straight.
Senior
Daniela Viotti tied for third place individually with a 160 (76-84), while sophomore
Tayler Hoag gave UMSL three top-10 finishes by tying for 10
th place with a 163 (79-84). Also for the Tritons, freshman
Miranda Rohlfing (84-90 - 174) and senior
Gabriela Murcia (80-96 – 176) tied for 38
th and 44
th place, respectively. Freshman
Kristin Gonzalez competed as an individual, shooting a 182 (90-92).
