Women’s Soccer Posts Shut Out in Season Opener

ST. LOUIS, MO. – Junior Jen Eaton tallied a goal and assist to the help the University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team to a season-opening 3-0 victory over Waldorf College on Friday.
 
The win by the Tritons also mark the successful debut of first-year head coach Wendy Dillinger.
 
UMSL, which outshot its guests, 26-1, jumped out to an early lead in the 14th minute on junior Laura Hurlbut's goal with the assist to senior Mary Kopsky.
 
Eaton then delivered a cross to junior Katie Rapisardo to make it 2-0 in the 32nd minute before finding the net herself in the 77th minute off a pass from junior Hunter Wagoner.
 
Hurlbut, Eaton and junior Cassie McFadden all took four shots each, placing two on goal. UMSL finished with nine shots on goal.
 
Junior Megan Ohm played all 90 minutes in goal to record the shutout.
 
The Tritons continue a four-game season-opening homestand on Sunday, hosting Lindenwood at 1 p.m.
