Men's Basketball Will Play Next Two Games on the Road, Beginning Saturday at Indiana State

SETTING THE SCENE
UMSL hits the road for the first time this season, traveling to NCAA Division I opponent Indiana State on Saturday night. The Tritons then travel across town to NCAA Division III opponent Webster on Monday night.

LAST TIME OUT
UMSL is coming off 102-64 win over Robert Morris-Peoria on Tuesday night for its second straight win. The Tritons made just two of their first 13 field goal attempts, but used a 29-8 run over a six-minute span, connecting on 9-of-10 shots from the field, to turn a 9-8 lead into a 38-16 advantage at the 5:09 mark before holding a 52-26 halftime lead. Freshman Kobe Wands and junior Steven Davis each scored 17 points to lead five players in double figures, while senior Hunter Reine followed with 15 points and 13 rebounds.

SIZING UP THE TRITONS
UMSL is 2-1 overall, with all three games being played at home. Senior Hunter Reine leads the Tritons with 12.3 points and 12.3 rebounds per game, having recorded a double-double in two contests. Reine pulled down a career-best 17 rebounds in the season opener against Ferris State. Only five GLVC players grabbed 17 or more boards last year and his total was the most by a league player since Missouri S&T's Rokas Paulauskas snatched 18 caroms against the Tritons on Feb. 18, 2016.

Junior Steven Davis follows with 11.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game and leads the team with eight three-pointers, while junior D.J. White adds 10.7 points per game, shooting a team-best 55.6 percent from the floor.

TRITON TIDBITS
• UMSL went over the 100-point plateau for the 75th time in program history when it scored 102 points Tuesday night against Robert Morris-Peoria. The Tritons are one of three GLVC schools to hit the century mark this season.
• The Tritons pulled down 57 rebounds in the win over Robert Morris-Peoria, collecting the most caroms since pulling down 63 at Maryville during the 2009-10 season in a 152-107 victory.
• Senior Joseph English is averaging 4.7 assists per game, including 5.5 per game in the two victories.
• Freshman Kobe Wands is 8-for-8 at the free throw line with all eight attempts coming against Robert Morris-Peoria.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Indiana State is 1-1, playing two overtime games. The Sycamores are coming off an 80-74 win at Ball State and will be hosting UMSL in their home opener. Brenton Scott averages 26.5 points per game to pace three players in double figures.

THE SERIES
