BENTONVILLE, ARK. – The No. 7 ranked University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team improved to 10-0 on the season with another pair of shutouts on Saturday at the 8-State Classic, hosted by Arkansas-Monticello.
The Tritons defeated East Central, 8-0 in five innings, and Nebraska Kearney, 7-0.
Junior
Alex Stupek recorded four hits, including two home runs, while junior
Sara Kern finished with three hits, two of which were home runs.
Senior
Hannah Perryman picked up both wins in the circle, allowing three hits, while walking one and striking out 26 in 12 innings of work.
UMSL's final two games of the tournament tomorrow have been cancelled due to inclement weather. The Tritons return to the field February 27- March 2 at the NTC Spring Games in Clermont, Fla.
GAME 1: UMSL 8, East Central 0UMSL took advantage of four Tiger errors, while recording 13 hits, including two each from Stupek, sophomore

Stupek's solo home run put the Tritons on the board in the first inning, while a four-run third inning made it 5-0. The Tritons closed out the contest with a three-run fifth inning with the game ending on redshirt freshman
Alicia Shivers' two-run single.
H. Perryman tossed the complete game one-hitter, striking out 12.
GAME 2: UMSL 7, Nebraska Kearney 0The Tritons recorded four home runs in the victory, including two from Kern, who added three RBI and two runs scored. UMSL recorded seven hits, five of which were for extra base.
H. Perryman struck out 14 in the two-hit shutout.
