ST. LOUIS, MO. – The No. 6 ranked University of Missouri-St. Louis posted a 5-1 victory over visiting Maryville on Wednesday afternoon in the first of two games of the Great Lakes Valley Conference doubleheader. The Saints took the nightcap, 3-0.
UMSL is now 34-3 overall, including 12-2 in the GLVC, while Maryville is now 23-6 and 11-3 in the league.
The Tritons were limited to just seven hits on the day, but tallied a pair of two-run homers in the opener to help garner the win.
UMSL wraps up its current eight-game homestand on Saturday, hosting Quincy at 12 p.m.

Maryville took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third inning on a solo home run and finished with five hits to UMSL's three.
Senior
Hannah Perryman picked up the complete game victory, striking out nine without issuing a walk.
All three Triton hits came from the bottom of the lineup as junior
Ryan Logan added a single.
GAME 2: Maryville 3, UMSL 0The Saints scored twice in the second inning and plated a third run in the fifth inning.
Freshman
Carly Kingery allowed all three Saints runs, scattering five hits and walking one, while striking out two in four and one-thirds of an inning.
H. Perryman tossed the final two and two-thirds scoreless innings, striking out two and allowing two hits.
Junior
Alex Stupek had one of four UMSL hits and also drew a walk.
