SETTING THE SCENE
UMSL looks to add on to its four-game win streak this weekend as the Tritons continue their five-game homestand to close out the regular season. UMSL will welcome Missouri S&T on Thursday before hosting No. 9 Drury on Saturday.
SENIOR SALUTE
Following Saturday's contest, UMSL will honor its five graduating seniors -
Sydney Bloch,
Jordan Boyce,
Chelsey Jacox,
Robneisha Lee and
Shea O'Brien.
SIZING UP THE TRITONS
UMSL is coming off an impressive weekend in which they defeated a pair of Top 25 ranked teams with wins over No. 20 Southern Indiana, 65-59, last Thursday and No. 17 Bellarmine, last Saturday. The victories improved the Tritons' ledger to 13-10 overall. Senior
Robneisha Lee scored a career-high 26 points in the first win, which included netting all six points at the free throw line in the final 40 seconds, while junior
Jordan Fletcher scored the offensive put back with five seconds to play in the other win.
The Tritons are 8-7 in the GLVC, sitting in a tie for third place in the West Division standings with William Jewell - one game ahead of Maryville and Truman State. UMSL is in a three-way tie for sixth place overall with three league games to play. The top 12 teams earn a spot in the GLVC Tournament, while finishing in fifth through eighth place would land them a first round home game.
UMSL is 6-3 in home games, including 5-1 in GLVC home games, having won its last five.
The Tritons have limited six opponents to fewer than 55 points this season and nine opponents to fewer than 60 points.
