INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – Indianapolis netted the golden goal seven minutes into the first overtime to defeat the visiting University of Missouri-St. Louis men's soccer team, 3-2, Friday night, handing the Tritons their first Great Lakes Valley Conference loss.
UMSL scored a pair of equalizers in the contest, including one with 66 seconds to play in the first half to make it 1-1 at the break and then one with four minutes left in regulation to force the extra play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Indianapolis took a 1-0 lead in the 23
rd minute, but junior
Nick Harper made it 1-1 at the half with his second goal of the season in the 44
th minute. Freshman
Samed Ganibegovic sent the long pass up the left side to Haper, who broke away from the defense and fired from his right foot into the deep right corner.
- A penalty kick by the Greyhounds in the 57
th minute gave the hosts a 2-1 lead after senior goalkeeper
Jake Schmidt was tagged for a yellow card after contact in the box.

Donald Link netted the equalizer with 86:08 on the clock, picking up the loose ball in the box following the header pass from junior
Dom Barczewski.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- UMSL took 10 shots, placing four on goal, including two from senior
Pat Ries, while UIndy took 12 shots, landing six on target. The Greyhounds outshot UMSL, 3-0, in overtime.
- Schmidt made three saves.
- The two teams combined for 40 fouls, each committing 20.
