SETTING THE SCENE
UMSL will play two games this week, beginning Friday when they host Christian Brothers to wrap up a six-game homestand. The Tritons will then travel west across the state to Kansas City on Sunday for an exhibition contest at UMKC.
 
SIZING UP THE TRITONS

• UMSL sits at 4-4 overall and has been idle since an 82-54 win over Illinois Springfield in GLVC play last Saturday.
• Senior Arielle Jackson has upped her scoring average to a season-best 15.6 points per game and has three 20-point outings. She also leads the team in three-pointers with 19 and is connecting at a 41.3 percent clip from that distance. Jackson ranks sixth in the GLVC in points per game.
• As a team, the Tritons are shooting 37.1 percent from beyond the arc, which ranks fourth in the league and 30^th in NCAA DII.
• Sophomore Alex LaPorta adds 11.1 points and 10.1 rebounds per game and is one of two players in the GLVC to average a double-double (Lewis' Jessica Kelliher 23.1 ppg, 10.3 rpg). LaPorta also tops the team with 19 steals.
• The Tritons are second in the GLVC and 22nd in NCAA DII in free throw percentage (76.6).

 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Christian Brothers
The Bucs come to St. Louis with a 3-2 record, which includes a 1-2 road mark. Kelsey Adkins (17.8 ppg) and Kenzie Jones (13.6 ppg) account for nearly 48 percent of the team's scoring as Christian Brothers averages 66.20 points per game, while shooting 34.8 percent from the field.  
 
UMKC
The Kangaroos (2-5), riding a two-game win streak will play at Missouri Thursday night before hosting the Tritons on Sunday.
 
SERIES HISTORIES
UMSL vs. Christian Brothers… UMSL has won three of the five meetings against the Bucs, but were edged, 56-55, in the last meeting in 2012-13 in Memphis, Tenn.
 
UMSL vs. UMKC… UMSL last played at UMKC in 2016-17 when the Tritons also traveled to Kansas City for a December exhibition game. The Kangaroos pulled away for a 60-45 win.
