SETTING THE SCENE
UMSL enters the final week of the regular season sitting outside the top eight of the GLVC Point Rating System, which is being used to determine the eight qualifying teams for the league's annual postseason tournament. The Tritons are listed 10th, but are technically in the ninth spot, with UW-Parkside, who is ineligible for postseason play, ahead of them.
UMSL must win both games this week in order to have a chance at moving its way into the field of eight. The Tritons host Quincy on Thursday before squaring off against PRS No. 6 Maryville on Saturday.
In each of the last two seasons, UMSL has entered the final regular season game needing to win to make the GLVC Tournament. Both games were against Maryville with the Tritons winning each time.
