Dillinger Resigns as Head Women’s Soccer Coach

ST. LOUIS, MO. – University of Missouri-St. Louis Director of Athletics Lori Flanagan has announced that Wendy Dillinger has resigned from her position as head women's soccer coach.

Dillinger, who completed her sixth season with the program this fall, ends her UMSL career with a 46-48-12 record.

"We want to thank Wendy for her commitment to the University and UMSL Athletics during her tenure," Flanagan said. "We appreciate her dedication to the women's soccer program and we wish her and her family nothing but the best in her future endeavors."

During her time at the helm at the program, Dillinger directed the 2015 and 2016 teams to the NCAA Tournaments with the latter winning just the program's second-ever NCAA Tournament victory with a 1-0 win over then No. 12 ranked Rockhurst. The Tritons finished 13-5-1 that season after a 12-5-4 record in 2015 that also saw them finish as runner-up at the GLVC Championship Tournament.

"It has been an honor to lead the women's soccer program at UMSL the last six years in the great soccer city of St. Louis," said Dillinger. "I am grateful for the opportunity and thank all who have supported the program and the student-athletes whom I've had the pleasure to coach. While it's bittersweet to be moving on from college coaching, I am looking forward to spending more time with my family and becoming involved with the youth soccer community."

In her initial season with the Tritons in 2014, Dillinger directed the program to an 8-8-1 record as UMSL recorded a .500 season for the first time since 2011. The eight wins also equaled the combined number of wins in the two previous seasons.

A search for a new head women's soccer coach will begin immediately.
