Charlotte Richards was named to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association's First Team on Thursday. It's her second consecutive D2CCA First Team All-Midwest Region honor and she's now eligible for D2CCA Academic All-America accolades.
Richards, the three-time GLVC Player of the Year and four-time First Team All-GLVC selection, won three GLVC Player of the Week awards this season with two offensive (Sept. 12 and Oct. 10) and one defensive (Nov.7). She's played 97 sets this season and leads the league in total kills with 400, is second in kills per set (4.12), points (457.5) and points per game (4.72). Richards has the second-most service aces overall (43; 0.44 per set) and registered 16 double-doubles this season.
The Division II Conference Commissioners Association encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies, and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
