ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's basketball team returns home on Saturday to host Lewis University at 1 p.m. at the Mark Twain Building.
The Tritons (2-5, 1-2 GLVC) look to even their GLVC record at 2-2 and break a two-game losing skid in the process. UMSL went 1-2 last week as it picked up a 51-46 win at Southwest Baptist last Monday before dropping its final two games of the week to No. 7 Drury 72-55 last Thursday and to Missouri S&T 58-48 last Saturday.
The Tritons have two players averaging double figures in scoring led by
Jalysa Stokes at 12.1 points game while
Morgan Ramthun is averaging 10.3 points per contest.
Kiara Stewart leads the team in rebounding at 9.3 per outing while
Shae Dillavou is pulling down 6.3 per game. Dillavou has a team-high 10 assists.
Stokes has a team-best 10 three-pointers this season while Ramthun has connected on four of her 11 attempts. Ramthun and
Amaya Blake led the team with nine steals apiece.
After starting the season with four straight losses the Flyers (4-5, 3-1 GLVC) have regrouped winning four of their last five including a 69-65 win at Parkside on Tuesday evening. Grace Hilber leads the team in scoring with 15.5 points per game while Kathryn Schmidt and Taylor Gugliuzza are contributing 14.5 and 12.3 points per contest respectively. Schmidt leads the team in rebounding with 7.5 per game while Jenna Badali has a team-high 31 assists and 14 steals.
Saturday's contest marks the 40th meeting all-time between UMSL and Lewis with the Flyers having won 28 of the first 39 contests but the Tritons have won four of the past seven meetings.
