LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team has been honored with the 2021-22 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award.
UMSL earns the honor for the 12
th time since the award originated in 1992-93, and have been recognized for the eighth straight year under head coach
Ryan Young, who just completed his 11
th season.
The Tritons finished the academic year with a 3.66 cumulative grade point average,
On the court, UMSL finished the 2021 season with a 25-9 record, winning the GLVC Central Division for a second straight year and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Tritons had three players named First Team All-GLVC, including senior outside hitter
Charlotte Richards who was tabbed the GLVC Player of the Year for the second straight year.
