INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team has been picked to finish second in the Great Lakes Valley Conference for the upcoming season. The annual GLVC Volleyball Preseason Poll was voted on the by the league's 13 head coaches. Coaches were not eligible to vote for their own teams per league policy.
Lewis was picked to win the league receiving 140 points and nine first place votes. The Tritons picked up 131 points and three first place votes while Rockhurst was slated to finish third with 117 points and one first place vote.
The Tritons are coming off their third season of at least 20 wins in the last five seasons and their first NCAA Tournament win as it defeated the Flyers in five sets in the first round of the NCAA Midwest Regional last December.

UMSL, which is also receiving votes in the AVCA DII Coaches Top 25 Preseason Poll, opens the 2022 schedule August 25-27 with four matches in the UMSL Triton Invitational. The Tritons host Missouri S&T Thursday evening in a non-conference match at 6 p.m. at the Mark Twain Building in the season opener. UMSL will play two matches on Friday hosting Emporia State at 10 a.m. and Southern Arkansas at 5:30 p.m. The Tritons final game of the opening weekend will be on Saturday against Saint Leo at 4:30 p.m.
The GLVC schedule begins September 16 at Illinois Springfield and concludes November 5 at home against Lewis. The annual GLVC Tournament will be played Nov. 10-12 at the Eastside Centre in East Peoria, Ill.
