UMSL Baseball Season-Opening Series Shifted to Doubleheaders Friday and Saturday

ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis baseball team's season-opening four-game series this weekend at Alabama-Huntsville has been shifted from a Friday-Saturday-Sunday series to a Friday-Saturday series with doubleheaders on both days.

The first game tomorrow starts at 12 p.m., which will be followed by a tentatively-scheduled doubleheader Saturday at 12 p.m.

The Tritons went 13-32 in 2022, which included a 12-16 GLVC mark will be under the direction of first-year head coach Scott Eul. Among its returners are senior Brandon Olion, a Second Team All-GLVC selection last season after posting a .412 batting average, tallying 68 hits, including 19 doubles, one triple, one home run. Olion also lead the team with 31 runs scored and was 10-for-16 in stolen bases.

The Chargers enter the nonconference series with a 2-1 overall record after opening the season at Saint Leo with a series win. UAH fell in last Thursday's home-opener, but followed up with wins of 9-8 on Friday and 14-11 on Saturday.

After this weekend's series, UMSL travels to Claremore, Okla., next weekend to take on Rogers State in a four-game series.
