UMSL’s Osa Named to College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Team

ST. LOUIS – University of Missouri-St. Louis men's swimmer Jon Osa added another accolade on Tuesday as he was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America second team for men's swimming. He becomes the third Triton student-athlete this school year to earn the honor joining Charlotte Richards and Zara Konstapel and is the 19th UMSL student-athlete to earn Academic All-American honors.

Osa earned First Team All-America honors with his sixth-place finish in the 100 backstroke earlier this month at the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships in Indianapolis. He was also a member of the 200 free relay team that earned Honorable Mention All-America honors and he earned honorable mention accolades with his fifth-place finish in the consolation final of the 200 back.

Osa, a native of Deba, Spain, is majoring in finance with a 3.77 grade point average.

To be eligible for Academic All-America honors, a student-athlete must carry a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade point average.
