ELKHART, Ind. – The 2025 GLVC Swimming and Diving Championships ended on Saturday evening with the University of Missouri-St. Louis women finishing fifth out of 10 teams with 738 points while the men were sixth out of 11 teams with 602.5 points in the championship meet.
The Tritons had four top five finishes on Saturday highlighted by
Justice Beard's second place finish in the 1650 with a time of 16:34.77. It was her third top two finish of the meet and she finished the championships with two Second Team and one First Team All-GLVC accolades.
Ashleigh Baros finished 21st in the 1650 (18:46.58).
Audrey Lantz and
Kate Nelson competed in the finals of the 100 free. Lantz finished fifth overall at 50.76 while Nelson took fourth in the 'B' Final in a time of 51.78 seconds.
Ella Lantz, Romina Itzkovich and
Isabella Gruidl swam in the 200 back final. Gruidl won the 'C' final with a time of 2:07.15, E. Lanta and Itzkovich swam in the 'B' final finishing second and eighth with times of 2:01.69 and 2:08.75 respectively.
Baros and
Cheyanne Godleski swam in the 'C' final of the 200 breast. Godleski was second (2:25.84) and Baros was eighth (2:31.37).
UMSL's 400-yard free relay team of A. Lantz, Nelson, E. Lantz and Beard finished fourth overall in a time of 3:23.92 while the quartet of
Macy Ganshert,
Madison Bottorff, Itzkovich and
Averi Meade were 14th at 3:35.10.
Drury won the women's title with 1,996 points defeating Indianapolis by 75 points for the title.
For the men,
Ryan Conner finished sixth in the 200 back at 1:47.03.
Conley Savage was sixth in the 'B' final of the 200 back at 1:48.63 and
Kaleb Suitor and
Mason Stimson were third and seventh in the 'C' final with times of 1:51.86 and 1:53.19 respectively.
The Tritons had four swimmers in the finals of the 200 breast.
Harrison Miller and
Landon Hanesworth were seventh and eighth in the 'C' final in times of 2:07.38 and 2:07.49.
Mattia Nardi finished sixth in the 'B' final (2:03.49) and was followed by
Aaron Wicklund in seventh at 2:03.62.
David Reynolds took fourth in the 'C' final of the 100 free with a time of 45.09 seconds.
Carson Ring and Stimson were 20th and 21st in the 1650 with times of 16:30.38 and 16:30.79 respectively.
UMSL's 400-yard free relay team of Nardi,
Ethan Boehle, Stimson and Wicklund finished 18th overall with a time of 3:06.14.
Drury edged McKendree for the men's team title with 1,770 points while the Bearcats had 1,734.5 points.
The Tritons will find out on Wednesday (Feb. 26) how many swimmers they will send to the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in Indianapolis. The NCAA Championship meet will be held March 11-15 at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis.
