Women’s Soccer Concludes Home Stand With Two Regional Contests

ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's soccer team concludes its four-game homestand this weekend hosting Ohio Dominican and Cedarville in a pair of in-region matchups. The Tritons and Panthers meet on Thursday at 5 p.m. and then UMSL will take on Cedarville at noon on Saturday afternoon.

Last Time Out – The Tritons opened their season last week with a 2-2 draw against Northwest Missouri last Friday in their season opener and then rallied for a 3-1 win over Washburn this past Sunday afternoon. Jaycee Cotton had a pair of goals last weekend while Jada Holloman, Sophie Steinmetz and Candice Parziani added a goal each.

About Ohio Dominican – The Panthers enter Thursday's contest with a record of 1-0-1 after defeating West Virginia State 1-0 last Thursday and then drew with Indianapolis, 1-1 this past Saturday. Junior Devin Schoenberger and senior Bailey Sedlak accounted for both of ODU's goals.

Seniors Jadelyn McNerney and Kaitlin Grady split time between the posts last weekend. McNerney got the start in both contests with Grady playing the second half in each game. McNerney netted five saves and picked up the win against West Virginia State while Grady made six saves and is 0-0-1 on the season.

About Cedarville – The Yellow Jackets enter Thursday's match at Maryville with a record of 2-0 and are ranked 18th in this week's United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll. Cedarville opened its season last Thursday with a 1-0 win at Indianapolis and then defeated Oklahoma Baptist 1-0 in its home opener on Saturday.

Megan McClish and Audrey Nelson lead the Jackets in scoring with one goal apiece. Sophie Browndyke and Maya Ryder each have one assist. Brooke Ackley posted shutouts in both contests last week stopping all five shots she faced.

Up Next – The Tritons begin a three-game road trip next Friday as they head to Liberty, Mo., to take on William Jewell at 5 p.m.
