ST. LOUIS – More than 188 University of Missouri-St. Louis student-athletes were recognized Thursday (Jan. 25) during halftime of the men's basketball game as part of Academic Appreciation Night for attaining a 3.25 grade point average or higher during the Fall 2023 semester.
As a department, UMSL's student-athletes posted a cumulative GPA of 3.47 with 75 of them recording straight A's. 80 percent earned higher than a 3.0 and all 19 athletic programs boasted a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA.
The women's tennis team led all teams with a 3.79 GPA, while women's basketball (3.63), volleyball (3.62), women's golf (3.61) and women's soccer (3.57) rounded out the top five.
