Tritons Ranked Eighth in Midwest in Second Installment of NCAA Regional Rankings

ST. LOUIS – The No. 22 University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team is ranked eighth in the Midwest Region in the second NCAA regional rankings that were released on Wednesday.

The top-eight teams in the final rankings will earn a bid to the NCAA Division II Tournament. The Midwest Region is comprised of teams from the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (GMAC).

The Tritons are 17-7 overall, including 6-5 in the GLVC.

The regional rankings help determine the postseason field in the NCAA Division II Tournament and will be updated one last time next Wednesday before the NCAA unveils its field of 64 on Monday, Nov. 25.

The Midwest Region will hand out three automatic bids to conference tournament winners from the GLVC, GLIAC and GMAC. Five teams will earn at-large bids to the tournament.

UMSL concludes the regular season this weekend with matches against Southwest Baptist this Friday at 6 p.m. and against Drury at 3 p.m. on Saturday. Both matches will be held at the Mark Twain Building.

The Tritons are seeking their fifth straight NCAA Tournament appearance and eighth overall.
