ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's basketball team will take on Upper Iowa in a quarterfinal contest in the Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament this Thursday at 8:15 p.m. at Hyland Arena on the campus of Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo.
The Tritons earned the seven seed in the tournament after finishing the regular season with an overall record of 13-15 including 11-9 in GLVC action and had a point rating of 3.33. UMSL is making its 20th appearance in the GLVC Tournament including its sixth straight and has been in the championship game three of the past four years. The Tritons won the GLVC title in 2022 and lost to Truman State in 2020 and McKendree in 2023 in the championship contest.
The Peacocks are making its first appearance in the GLVC postseason in its inaugural season in the league. UIU concluded the regular season with an overall record of 20-8, 15-5 in GLVC play and had a 3.80 point rating to earn the number two seed in the tournament.

Thursday's contest will be the second meeting of the season between UMSL and Upper Iowa with the Peacocks defeating the Tritons 81-68 in Fayette, Iowa on Feb. 1.
Matt Enright led UMSL with 18 points in that contest while Jake Hilmer finished with a game-high 23 points.
UMSL is coming off a 74-70 over Lewis in its regular season finale last Saturday.
Savon Wykle led the way with 19 points in the contest while
Terrell Kabala added 15 points and Enright and
Mayson Quartlebaum finished with 13 and 10 points respectively against the Flyers.
Upper Iowa extended its win streak to six with two road victories last weekend. The Peacocks defeated Drury 84-73 last Thursday and concluded the regular season with a 78-68 win at Southwest Baptist on Saturday.
Hilmer is the team and GLVC's leading scorer this season at 24.0 points per game. He is joined in double figures by Noah King and Nick Reid who are averaging 17.1 and 14.1 points per contest respectively while Caleb Delzell is at 9.6 points per outing. Reid and Kyle Hrncir are the team's leading rebounders. Reid is averaging 6.4 boards per contest while Hrncir is 6.3 per game. Hilmer has also dished out a team best 120 assists to go along with 49 steals.
