ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's tennis team had a successful opening weekend at the Missouri Valley Invitational this weekend in Marshall, Mo.
In singles play,
Bauty Rooney and
Percy Siercke each went 3-1 on the weekend and advanced to the semifinal round.
AJ Burrows and
Tanin Ramnath both won their first two matches of the weekend. Burrows lost Rooney and Ramnath fell to Siercke in the quarterfinal round.
Jose Yañez and
Joan Garros each went 1-1 winning his first match before falling in his second one.
In doubles action, Siercke and Garros and Ramnath and Rooney each advanced to the semifinal round before falling.
The Tritons are back in action on Friday (Sept. 27) taking on Missouri Baptist at 2 p.m. at the Lindenwood Tennis Courts.
