ST. LOUIS – Eight University of Missouri-St. Louis tennis student-athletes have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team that was announced on Tuesday.
Representing the Tritons are
Daniel Berdecio,
Anna Favaron,
Morgan Lint,
Aleksandra Lopez,
Henry Roberts,
Percy Siercke,
Hannah Tse and
Jose Yañez.
To be eligible for Academic All-District and Academic All-America honors, a student-athlete needs to have appeared in at least 70 percent of the team's scored matches and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
Berdecio, an information systems and technology major, went 7-8 in singles action rotating between number two and three singles and was 8-6 in doubles action overall. He finished the year, going 4-2 in doubles play with
Andrea Ricart.
Favaron, a mechanical engineering major, finished the season with a 7-10 mark in singles play and went 10-9 in doubles competition. She was 7-7 in dual matches at number five singles and went 8-6 in doubles matches with primary partner
Lauren Sweeney.
Lint, a biology major, competed in 20 matches on the singles side this season primarily playing in the number four singles spot with a record of 14-6. She partnered with Tse at number one doubles finishing with a record of 20-1.
Lopez, a psychology major, led the Tritons in wins with a record of 19-4 this year in singles play including 15-4 in dual matches and partnered with
Millie Wileman at number two doubles where the duo went 15-2.
Roberts, an electrical engineering major, finished the season with a record of 6-10 with five of those wins coming at number two singles. He partnered with
Joan Garros to form the number two doubles team this past season.
Siercke, a business administration major, competed in 18 matches on the singles side this season primarily playing in the number two singles position. He partnered primarily with
Tommy Griese to form the number
one doubles tandem that went 5-7 this season.
Tse, a sports management major, finished with a record of 14-10 including 14-6 in dual matches including 3-1 in GLVC play at number one singles. She and Lint had a 20-1 record in doubles competition.
Yañez, a finance and international business major, appeared in 13 matches between number five and number six singles competitions while going 2-3 in doubles action.
Academic All-District honorees who advanced to the CSC Academic All-America Ballot. First-, second and third team Academic All-America honorees will be announced June 2 (women) and June 3 (men).
