INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's basketball team has been picked to finish third in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Preseason Poll, as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon. The annual GLVC Men's Basketball Preseason Poll was voted on by the league coaches and ranks all 15 teams in predicted order of finish.
UMSL received 161 points in the poll and are coming off a 21-12 season including 15-5 in the GLVC. It was the runner-up in the GLVC Tournament and advanced to the Sweet Sixteen for the third time in four years. The Tritons return three players from last year's squad with
Quenton Parker averaging 4.0 points, 1.3 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game.
Missouri S&T, the defending GLVC Regular Season champs, is the favorite to win the league this season. The Miners received 196 points including 14 of a possible 15 first-place votes given that Conference bylaws state a school cannot vote for itself. Lincoln, the defending GLVC champion, was picked second with 174 points and the other first-place vote. Rockhurst garnered 141 points and Drury received 121 points to round out the top five.
Season Tickets for the 2025-26 men's basketball season are on sale now. Packages are $126 for adults and $100 for children. Single game tickets go on sale starting next Monday (Oct. 27).
UMSL tips off its 2025-26 season next Saturday (Nov. 1) at the D2 CCA Tip-off Classic at the St. Joseph Civic Arena in St. Joseph, Mo. The Tritons open the season against Northwest Missouri State at 7 p.m. and then play Missouri Western on Sunday (Nov. 2) at 6 p.m.
UMSL's home opener is scheduled for Friday (Nov. 21) against UHSP at 6 p.m. at the Mark Twain Building.
